Child Wellbeing & Best Interest Case Practice Model (BICPM)

This workshop provides The Orange Door (TOD) practitioner with theoretical knowledge & research evidence that underpins Child Wellbeing & Best Interest Case Practice Model (BICPM), including Safer Children & MARAM frameworks. As well as providing participants with the key concepts to increase their skills in identifying risk, risk assessment, analysis, reflection, to enhance a child & family’s safety & wellbeing.  

 

It aims to provide practitioners with practical skills to enhance their professional judgement approach through the integration of these frameworks & concepts into their practice to provide better outcomes for children, parent/s, carer/s, for whom they work with.

Learning Outcomes

  • Theoretical frameworks, legislation and research evidence 

  • Child Wellbeing, Best Interests Case Practice Model (BICPM), Safer children framework & MARAM 

  • Work collaboratively and in partnerships with other services

  • Engage and build relationships with parent or carer to support their empowerment 

  • Utilize Genograms to enhance best practice and good outcomes  

  • Integrate the Child Wellbeing Assessment Tool, 5 C’s assessment & analysis tool, & Analysis & Risk Assessment Tool into practice 

  • Trauma and cumulative harm can impact on the development and the lives of children, young people and parent or carer 

  • Identify risk factors, indicators utilising guides to support assessments 

  • Using reflective prompts to improve practice and outcomes.
